The Ming cat is a small brown tabby variegated-latex cat encountered in a storage room early in the game.

Appearance

The Ming Cat is a small light brown tabby with dark brown and white markings. It has a pink nose and blue eyes. One of the stripes on its head heavily resembles the letter M.

Behavior

It was just another lab animal brought in for latex-infusing experimentation in the 'Genetic Project'. It escaped sometime after the mass riots. The Ming Cat may look and behave like an adorable kitten, but is deadly, and has no good intentions for its prey.

The feline conveys anger with Colin through an emotion bubble whenever he steps on its latex residue patches, and using the Container Maze to avoid being consumed. If the cat successfully assimilates Colin, it'll undergo a 'transfurmation' into a smiling humanoid-cat. The Ming Cat is last seen relaxing happily on its cushion bed now dressed up In presumably some sort of sport wear, much like that of a wrestler.

This creature is far faster than Colin, making this a tough chase. In the Special Edition, to slip past the chasing cat, Colin can pull down a cardboard prop made by Puro, that acts as a decoy to distract Ming Cat, allowing Colin to skip past what is otherwise a very difficult chase. Stepping on its latex patches will bring it back from exhaustion.

An emotion bubble indicates when the Ming Cat is fatigued, and its speed dropping dramatically. The cat is typically twice the player's speed, but stepping on its puddles will immediately revitalize it. The cat will only approach the player in the shortest straight line without turning.
