The Benign Latex (pronounced benihn) are black-colored latex shorts worn by Colin.

Given how they operate, it is likely previous test subjects wore this piece of clothing, whether be it in tanks or outside, as an act of recontainment and restraining.

Behavior

In the base game, they are completely harmless and play no particular role in the gameplay or storyline.

In Special Edition however, there are rooms where they can be awakened via red laser beams controlled by Dr. K and transfur the protagonist. Usually, these transfurs restrain the protagonist, making him unable to see, hear, make sounds, or move, presumably so Dr. K can capture him later.

In the first instance, a flap which appears to be a sleep mask covers the protagonist's face after being transfurred. In another, their own tail is used as a gag unwillingly. On the third and fourth instances, both appear in the Aquatic Area, one which appears as an orca bound to itself, and another which reuses the first instance, except the robot it was transfurred by puts them onto it, and hypnotizing them.
